I agree with you 💯 I have said this a million times on here, but it bears repeating. Whenever I watch FWWM, it makes me want to reach into the screen to hug and console Laura Palmer and rescue her from descending into madness.

I think David threw a curveball at his fans, simply by telling Laura’s story on terms it deserved to be told. Probably not what everyone was ready for at the time, but it’s worth setting aside expectations the tv show set up and giving it a fresh look.

Exactly, because Laura’s story needed to be told because the subject was who killed Laura Palmer? By going in that route, Lynch gave us a tragic figure and not just another statistic.
