May I also put a plug for Interview with the Vampire? After all the shows about vampires, I slept on it for two years but it is so fantastic. Truly one of the best shows ever and it also happens to be about catry, delicious, queer vampires.
The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies are something I’ll binge every few years. It was just a fun show to watch and we all have our favorite characters…
Same thing with Supernatural although that spin-off didn’t quite do it for me.
Tru Blood also deserves an honorable mention!
Half those actors lived in my building in that time period. I never watched so I didn’t really know who they were, but when one of them got in the elevator with me, I’d just think “that person is way too attractive to be a normal person”.
So far the neck snapping has been minimal. Elijah has finally shown up and you know how he loves to rip people’s hearts out of their chests, but so far just two neck snaps.
in the heyday of tumblr a friend of mine referred to him as kitty kat Klaus, bc his face is always :3 so you said Klaus and I reflexively was like, KITTY ❤️ he and Elijah were chef’s kiss good, at all times
You know, a Vampire Diaries rewatch sounds like a solid idea. I’ve been thinking about that show a lot lately. Why not escape into a world where the biggest problems are undead killers? At least THOSE are hot!
Damon just snapped another neck so that’s four neck snaps for those of you keeping count. Lol.
We’re on the episode Klaus, so everything is a thousand times more chaotic now. This is when the Salvatores also start staking each other when they get ornery. #tvd
I JUST watched the season finale of Season 3 (my first ever watch!) and it had me yelling at the TV! You're 150% right about Bonnie, and also, this show reinforces my belief that if I were a vampire, I would just.... not attend human high school?!?!? LIKE WHY BOTHER
If you aren’t listening to the Ampire Diaries podcast in conjunction, are you even doing a rewatch?
(They haven’t recorded new eps in a while - I assume life got in the way - but it is truly a phenomenal companion - super smart social commentary and hilarious and stupid in the best ways).
I live in the town where this show was filmed and they just had a huge convention here for all of the fans. We even have a real Mystic Grill restaurant that is super fun and worth checking out!
I love how quickly they clipped through or upended expected beats during the first 4-5 seasons. Also one of my favorite lighting & set design shows ever, truly.
The greatroom/den rug gag was up there with any joy ever given us by genre media, IMO. They had to be stocking up in bulk by s2 or so.
Hey Imani. Back on that other site, you started a thread surprised by the good tv you found on AppleTV. The thread is locked. Any chance you can open it for me? Just subscribed to AppleTV myself. Would like to see some of the rec's in there.
I started watching the Dexter: Origin Story last night.
A serial killer taking out criminals that think they're too smart to get caught and keep getting away with it, somehow, hits different in 2024.

Because doing that IRL would be bad, yes?

Also is Elena the most annoying character in the world, or yes?
But Klaus is comin’. Oh boy is Klaus comin’.
And also one head ripped off and another heart ripped out.
So three neck snaps; one decapitation; and three heart removals. That’s where we are in the tally.

How?

Bonnie should have gotten a HEA with Enzo and Klaus and Caroline should have ended up together.
