And I've got battery powered clocks that got slow first, then finally stopped. It's a slow creep at first, so you don't realize you're being shown a time that's a few minutes behind. You can forget to wind a watch. No man made timekeeper is without flaws or vulnerabilities.

I used to use voice assistants and bloody hell they're annoying. That and the privacy issues they have. Went back to using a simple button for things like turning on the lights. 🤦‍♂️

I have a semi-smart alarm clock. It has the start and end of daylight saving time programmed into it so it changes automatically twice a year. But it doesn't have an internet connection, so it never has to do any updates.

We have a battery operated traditional clock. Sometimes it displays the wrong time for days due to changes in daylight savings time. Other times, it stops completely until we dig up another battery.

There’s never been a maintenance-free timepiece.

My not smart, not connected (no thanks!) oven will not start heating until you set the time/date. I now accept that the clock is useless because the post-power outage reset process takes too long when I just want to use the appliance for its primary function. You know, heating.
