I actually wanted to stand up and clap after that one. The theater was dead silent after it ended. The funeral march out the door was so awkwardly hilarious to me.
Having labored so much to rehab a home to better than it was the thought of being overrun and ignored and it destroyed along with everything else gives me such a visceral reaction at just the thought and makes me ill, also men are trash, Javi did an amazing job being the worst and most insufferable
Yes, it was a movie where both the plot and the theme(s) were absolutely exhausting, but environmental/religious allegories were executed very well. Some disagree.
I had a whole stack of foreign language horror DVDs. I was going to make a day of it. Martyrs was the second film and after that I shut it down and had to touch grass.
I watched Requiem For a Dream in a film class, and was depressed for a week. I think in part because I wanted to cry but held it in during class. My coworker asked me what was wrong later that day I was so out of it. Well-crafted but devastating to my soul 😭
