*starts playing "Please Please Please" by Sabrina Carpenter* 🙏

I mostly stick to horror movies, but wanted to plug this short story collection "The Black Girl Survives In This One" edited by Desiree S. Evans & Saraciea J. Fennell. It is a top tier anthology tapping into tons of horror subgenres with plenty of chills. One of my favorite reads in a while!

Me watching Conclave when I'm used to only seeing this much Catholic imagery in horror films

"And the category is..."

Arriving into 2025 like

Just watched The Substance...I guess that technically was a New Year's Eve film! 🫠 That was probably the most I said "absolutely fucking not!" and/or "I hate you" to a movie this year and I mean that as a compliment

It's a Wonderful Knife (2023) is simply so delightful, I decided to go back an update my favorite list. This Christmas I've been really craving the comfort of tradition, so it's nice to go back and watch a fair number of these favorite Christmas horror movies again 🎄🎅☃️

Having fun isn’t hard with your library card✨ Hoopla has these flicks✨ Talk To Me Pearl Terrifier 2 Host (2020) Possession (1981) Summer of 84 VHS 85 VHS 94 Terrified (2017) The Dark and The Wicked The Descent The Crazies (2010) Evil Dead 2 VHS 99

The Blob (1988)

#NowWatching Smile 1 Rose saying "can you guys just shut the fuck up?!" 🤬😤 to her family just as dinner is being served only to turn around and politely say "thank you" 😇🥰🙏 to the server in a totally different tone is such a mood for the holidays

#foundfootage starter kit: -opening text about finding tapes -20-somethings go into: woods/asylum/old-ass house -20 minutes of chit-chat -door opens by itself in background -they freak out about noises in night vision footage -something moves -they’re dragged off screaming -camera keeps rolling END

I had an absolute blast doing my 13th year of watching #31HorrorFilms31Days. It was very hard narrowing down my top picks. The First Omen and Oddity were the clearest standouts for me, and I'll be listening to Skye Riley songs on repeat for a while after Smile 2 #HorrorSky

4 horror movies you will always defend I am Hellraiser: Revelations strongest soldier not by choice or desire but by default because I'm literally it's only soldier

Post a movie GIF from the year you were born.

The house mother in the 2006 Black Christmas was trying her best to keep things under control, went to get help when shit started to hit the fan, and still got offed by a stray icicle 😭

10 Horror Movies to get to know me. 📺 1. The Blob (1988) 2. Friday the 13th (1980) 3. The Shining (1980) 4. Scream (1996) 5. The Ring (2002) 6. Silent Hill (2006) 7. Suspiria (1977) 8. Black Christmas (2006) 9. The Strangers (2008) 10. Get Out (2017)

Still working on a recap of #31HorrorFilms31Days but also working through Donald Trump getting reelected and can't stop thinking about Sienna Shaw and the new crop of Final Girls right now as we brace ourselves to be the unwilling Final Girls in a sequel at least half of us did not want.

31) Time Cut - The scariest part is realizing characters are now time traveling to the vintage time of my high school years 😭. The 2003 vibes were cute but the movie is sadly underwhelming with a shockingly weird ending choice #31HorrorFilms31Days

30) Smile 2 - Two unintended takeaways: Skye's songs were actual bops & product placement really doesn't work in horror films because I'll never drink Voss water after watching this! Scary gory fun. I spent large portions squinting at the screen and loving it #31HorrorFilms31Days

29) The Last Broadcast - That was a silly goose of a twist. Faux true crime documentary involving found footage. Needed more cowbell and by cowbell I mean Jersey Devil #31HorrorFilms31Days

28) Master - A despairing depiction of institutional racism in academia. There's also a witch. Left some plot threads a bit too loose for my liking, but gives you enough to pretty much put it together. A particular arc will break your heart so just be prepared #31HorrorFilms31Days

27) Campfire Tales - Decided to start perusing the 90s Bargain Bin & nothing screams 90s teen horror like floating heads over a dark background. Like an anthology version of Urban Legend (that actually predates Urban Legend by a year!). Spooky fun ripping on common Snopes lore #31HorrorFilms31Days

26) Mr. Crocket - Do not follow this TV's glow! Elvis Nolasco delivers a memorable performance as a demented Mr. Rogers-like character who delivers carnage with a singsong smile #31HorrorFilms31Days

25) Late Night with the Devil - Delightfully fun and creative spin on the genre indebted to the iconic Ghostwatch. Mr. Wiggles and Mr. Pipes could probably trade some good notes on terrorizing television audiences #31HorrorFilms31Days

24) Oddity - Do you want to tense your muscles for over 90 minutes as a form of "fun"? Do you enjoy cursing at your TV screen to feel alive? This is the movie for you! Hitchcock suspense with supernatural jolts to absolutely cook your nerves #31HorrorFilms31Days

23) Faces of Death - As one of the many kids who was morbidly fascinated by this forbidden VHS during visits to the video store, I had to give it a go when I saw it on Shudder. The film itself doesn't match the intrigue, but naming the narrator "Dr. Francis B. Gröss" is iconic #31HorrorFilms31Days

22) Possession - We all know that one couple that shouldn't be a couple. This movie asks "what if you add tentacles to the mix?" and goes for broke from there! #31HorrorFilms31Days

21) Abigail - She's not trapped in there with them, they're trapped in there with her #31HorrorFilms31Days

20) Terrifier 3 - New holiday, same sadistic clown. May we all have the luck of the two women Art pushes out the way in his excitement to meet Santa Claus! 🎅 #31HorrorFilms31Days

19) Demons 2 - If you enjoyed a goopy demonic slaughter in an Italian movie theater, you'll likely enjoy the same goopy demonic slaughter in an Italian high-rise apartment #31HorrorFilms31Days

18) Under the Shadow - Please let this woman workout to her exercise tape in peace she's already living through war, regressive cultural norms, and a Djinn. Whoever came up with that smash cut toaster jump scare is going to catch these hands if I ever meet them #31HorrorFilms31Days
