This. And as well all saw with Cannon, judges have pretty broad latitude in overseeing criminal trials. With some exceptions (cough - immunity), there is much less opportunity for MAGA-leaning appellate judges to interfere.

Assuming someone from DOJ files the motion to dismiss, can the court (a) require Bove to come to court to explain under oath what he agreed to do; and (b) choose not to dismiss the charges?

We'll see on (a). On (b), yes, but then DOJ could move to dismiss with prejudice instead (meaning they can never refile charges), or we could eventually see a pardon.

Either way, this judge is sure to give them a very hard time.
