Why would people be protesting now? There's not enough suffering yet. People aren't going to hit the streets over the price of eggs as long as donald blames the democrats and people believe him. And forget a maganauts ever being against him. These folks are owned, body and soul

There are some small protests happening throughout the country. Also some of us are just trying to leave the country, and some of us know if we fight too hard, martial law will be declared, the world's strongest military turned against its own people.

The fascists are not running the government in Germany. I agree that if we even look like we are protesting things will become deadly. We have to fight back inch by inch day by day in small and big ways until we can bring sanity back. Coming together even on social media does matter

up until now the police have been brutalizing and disappearing protestors to dissuade folks from wanting to participate. i doubt it will stop us ultimately, but the brutality up to now against sit-ins and peaceful name readings is part of the hesitation

are you fucking insane, look up any american protest. especially like pro-gaza university sit-ins, they kettled and tear gassed folks during black lives matter, look at the end of occupy wallstreet. they grabbed and threw folks in unmarked vans. it won't stop us, but its a factor

Many Americans have essentially no job protection, and have health insurance through their job. Anything that puts their job at risk by participating in a general strike or other direct action could be devastating.

I'm a teacher in Texas. If I were to go on strike, not only would I lose my job, I would lose my teaching license. Granted, if a strike were successful, keeping our licenses would be part of the settlement. But you can understand why people would be afraid to do anything radical.

Many people can't financially afford to take time off work to protest in the US. They have to pay for the overpriced health-care, child care and student loans they're shackled to. Others feel it doesn't work.
