Respect to "The European" for this, "Allister Heath, the Telegraph’s Chicken Little" (though I still prefer Chicken Licken).
How can anyone reach this conclusion after barely 5 months in office? Unless, of course, they're so inured to reality that they just splutter nonsense. Or are paid to.
Raising the minimum wage, giving public sector workers a long overdue pay rise, rebalancing the tax system. Blood vessels will be exploding all over Fleet Street for the foreseeable.
The Torygraph, Daily Fail and Daily Expunge make the mistake of thinking that keep shoving Fartage on TV makes him popular. Far more loath him than the admittedly 20% who think the sun shines out of his arse. With FPTP I have the same chance of being PM as Fartage.
Must admit they're having a shocker. They'd be in trouble already if it was 3 year terms, but 5 years is a long time, and anything could happen. Makes our sometimes stumbling Australian Labor look absolute champions in comparison.
The problem is the British press can't stop themselves attacking the Left but people's memories of the Tories are still very fresh. Result: Musk gets his wish as the UK stumbles into fascism and everyone wishes they'd woke up. That's why it's important to back Labour, however tough Starmer makes it.
The Greens are a joke. They benefited from a temporary boost due to the far left, fleeing Labour because they were no longer permitted to be AS, cynically weaponising Gaza.
Once people start to feel the benefits of the policies Labour are implementing, the greens will disappear back into obscurity
Did they benefit from Labour abandoning their core vote? Definitely but it's not AS to say we should not be arming a country committing genocide and it's no surprise that a party which arose from the CND movement proudly made that point
They are a joke because they are an uncomfortable mix of dedicated, but unrealistic environmentalists and far left momentum entryists who cost Labour 2 elections and enabled Brexit, but didn’t leave until the rules were actually enforced on their disgusting behaviour.
I didn’t say it’s AS to oppose the Gaza conflict, but pretending that KS doesn’t want peace or somehow supports the disgraceful behaviour of Netanyahu is as unhinged as pretending the supplying parts for vehicles is supporting genocide or the UK has any power to stop the conflict.
2/2 Neo-liberals as far back as Tony Blair and Margaret Thatcher have wrecked this country selling it off to the highest bidder
The left realises that and Starmer spent years demonising them. Until that changes I doubt they'll go back
We are now a PR country in a FPTP system and it's unsustainable
That you class Thatcher & Blair as similar demonstrates how have from reality your views sit. The Greens will split soon enough, the internal dissonance is too great to survive a practical govt improving people’s lives. Your leaders are already campaigning against green energy for heaven’s sake!
That's what I had in mind about Starmer making it tough. But ten years from now when prime minister Farage proudly cuts the ribbon on another internment camp for Moslems?
Where I live I think Kermit the frog has a better chance of getting elected than Reform and we all benefit from Green MPs who cant be hushed up by a Labour whip when they do something like refuse to scrap the 2 child benefit cap
In Apple News feed every day there is a new bs headline about how Labour are destroying the country from the Telegraph. Just cos they have to pay VAT like poor people. Shocking
Keir Starmer is making it easy for his enemies. He needs to achieve something important, or at least convince the public that he's leading us to somewhere better. So far, it's been missteps and empty pledges.
Winter fuel allowance removed without impoverishing low income pensioners. Inheritance Tax on farm land imposed without attacking actual farmers. Water companies committed to meeting targets on ending sewage dumping. Two child benefit cap removed. Progress on building a working asylum process, etc.
The right wing press are doing a grand job of convincing a sizeable chunk of the electorate that Labour are useless. 14 years of incompetence and corruption by the Tories are a distant memory. I despair for us as a species.
Give them a bloody chance! When's the last time you started a new job in July, found a total shitshow to sort out, and had it nailed four months later?
A bit like the time Nick Clegg got some power and immediately broke every pledge he had made to get elected? Not to mention enabling the start of 14 years of Tory nuclear winter. You either have a VERY short memory or a HIGH level of hypocrisy.
It’s not just the amnesia that’s a concern imagine thinking Nigel Farage is your saviour politically speaking that’s got to be another level of dangerous syndrome .
I keep saying it. Unless Starmer gets a grip of the media in the UK, he isn't seeing another term, and the country will go the way of the US. He has to clamp down on billionaire ownership, foreign ownership, non dom ownership, and the blatant lying and bias.
He’s got a big majority. Levison 2, ofcom more teeth, remove Tory leadership in bbc current affairs, create new laws around bias and lies, Huge fines for bullshit, clear divide between news and entertainment. New laws to prevent foreign and offshore tax haven media ownership. He could do a lot.

I agree..starmer is really bad pm and likely the most unpopular ever
2nd.. MSM .. no one reads it anymore , its irrelevant..... stopped? What do mean
There is a thing called critical thinking.... amazing concept you know. Lefties don't know about it...but you could be first ...😂
Free Palestine.
We need left wing MPs who will hold Labour accountable and Greens do that
Once people start to feel the benefits of the policies Labour are implementing, the greens will disappear back into obscurity

Nothing unrealistic about them
The Greens have always been a social justice party that has a broader platform than just environmentalism and that's not a bad thing
You're welcome to not like the policies and vote for a different party like people don't have to vote Labour
The left realises that and Starmer spent years demonising them. Until that changes I doubt they'll go back

Not everyone has to vote Labour to avoid Tories or Reform... Some can safely vote Lib-Dem, Green, Plaid, SNP etc and often that's a better option
Just what are his priorities?

Life's too short.
Oh, that's right: This is in the Torygraph.
