Becky Burke of Book Island (a picture book publisher in the UK founded by my fellow Tokarczuk translator Greet Pauwelijn) was "detained" by ICE at the Canadian border on 2/28. Her father asked that her story be shared in case someone can help her. He writes:

Don’t know if you subscribe to Netflix, but the new Daredevil series reboot is an interesting allegory for what is happening north of the Gulf of Mexico. One of the few semi-intelligent series of that genre. Also, extremely depressing.

I believe I've made it clear, I'm not going to the states during this political climate. Even if I could get a visa.
A rapist, sex trafficer and self avowed misogynist CAN get a visa. But then the current Felon in Chief matches at least 2 of 3 of those.

Last summer my eldest went to the US to visit her girlfriend. Not an option any longer.
