Was just reminded of the The Impenetrable Layer of Suck, a term from Peter Corbett that I illustrated back in 2010. Can't imagine much has changed, other than the layer of suck has probably thickened and become even more impenetrable.

You have to wonder what's the fucking point.

The problem with stuff like this is that outrage and anxiety are much more easy to monetise.

Fondly remembering how publishers used to sell books. www.onedarnleyroad.com/work/natural...

We do not and have never had an immigration "problem" or an immigration "crisis" in this country. We do, however, have a xenophobia and racism problem, and it's getting worse.

Wild if the marines went in to round up violent troublemakers and ended up with a catchwagon full of LAPD and ICE.

My friend Samaa is 7 months pregnant, with a sweet and beloved toddler named Julia…who has never known what peace and safety feel like. A parent’s worst nightmare, and it’s every day. Her family fundraiser is going slow and these babies need to eat. Please donate and share 🇵🇸❤️ gofund.me/f816f59f

Or looked at another way, how many have colluded, wittingly or otherwise, in the downfall of America.

Fell down a rabbit hole that led to me remembering this wonderful song by John Foxx. Apologies to anyone who was at school with me when it came out. I played it to death, then carried on playing it until it was nothing but bones and dust. johnfoxx.bandcamp.com/track/underp...

I'm not the only person who sees this as a thinly veiled threat, am I?

2000AD has always been eerily prescient.

The thing about LLMs and Generative 'AI' you have to realise is that for the techbro billionaires it is a religion. They truly believe there will soon be a computer intelligence that outstrips all else, and which will bring them the immortality they crave. They are insane.

No work, only scritches.
