Little Niamh has had to be bottle fed for a bit, as she's struggling to suckle her mum's rather pendulous and large teats. Now everything smells of milk and I'm her new best friend.

time for my new favorite tumblr post

Finished this excellent book from @dougjohnstone.bsky.social and @orendabooks.bsky.social yesterday. You lot are in for a treat in August. The whole trilogy has been brilliant, and this wraps it all up in style. Thrilling and thought-provoking in equal measure!

I bumped into Richard Harris as he was coming out of an optician's on the Strand.

Why are there never enough biscuits?

Almost everyone: "Electric cars are too expensive and are all SUVs. We need smaller, cheaper ones." *BYD launches new compact, high-quality electric car in the UK at £18,000* BBC: No, not like that. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Once more for the ppl in the back: There is no ethical use of AI in the arts.

When I posted 'it's beginning to look a lot like tea time' what I meant was that I was gasping and fancied a cuppa. If you want to take it as a call to resist fascism, it can be that too. Don't use Boston harbour water in your brew though, even if it's been boiled.

"While there’s never any guarantee that law enforcement officers will follow the law" is a hell of an opener.

It's beginning to look a lot like tea time.

The world isn't silent on Gaza - this is by far the most vocal I have seen the general public on a political issue in my lifetime. I have also never seen a bigger difference between the anger of the public and the inaction of specific institutions and governments. That's the crucial disconnect.

Guys, please talk about Thiago Avila. He's the Brazilian activist on Freedom Flotilla kidnapped by Israel. He's still detained and has been doing a hunger and water strike since yesterday early morning. There have been reports of unsanitary conditions too. Please talk about him.

Now with added bling! Welcome to the fold, wee Niamh!

Instagram guy I originally followed bc he's half of a photogenic cute gay couple continues to deliver better political analysis than most of us terminally online bsky politics posters.

Was just reminded of the The Impenetrable Layer of Suck, a term from Peter Corbett that I illustrated back in 2010. Can't imagine much has changed, other than the layer of suck has probably thickened and become even more impenetrable.

You have to wonder what's the fucking point.

The problem with stuff like this is that outrage and anxiety are much more easy to monetise.

Fondly remembering how publishers used to sell books. www.onedarnleyroad.com/work/natural...

We do not and have never had an immigration "problem" or an immigration "crisis" in this country. We do, however, have a xenophobia and racism problem, and it's getting worse.

Tea?
