Yes I fear you are right on #CR2. There goes another £30bn of state investment in S E England, boosting values of housing stock by £30bn and a treat for central London commercial property owners. Levelling up gets even more remote, rents rise and displacement gets a fresh surge.

I honestly despair travelling between cities in this country.

Yet, our press are quick to label the new Paris-Berlin direct ICE as “not that fast/timesaving” when it travels faster than any train we operate. Plus it has a dining car.
