This important study proves what most ecologists have suspected for years, fertilisers reduce wildflowers and thus pollinators. The problem now is that they are so widely over used that they are in the atmosphere and affecting everywhere with Nitrogen deposition. A big threat to insects
But this makes no mention of how most grassland is used. Presumably for grazing and hay/silage production? Reducing our dependency on meat would presumably help biodiversity in that respect?
