The game is written in Rust using Bevy (https://bevyengine.org/) as the game engine. For the terminal UI stuff I’m using Ratatui (https://ratatui.rs/) with a custom Bevy integration that I’ve written.

Pretty much. The reason I like game dev isn't because I'm actually interested in making a game but because I have to solve entirely different problems from the normal web dev stuff I do day to day.

Like, did this game need a super elaborate loot system to procedurally generate items based on loot tables and affixes (like Diablo 2)? Absolutely not. Was it fun building. Definitely.
