“Many young men, even young men who said ultimately they would vote for Kamala Harris, thought the Republican Party and Donald Trump were more in favor of them."

I personally am tired of pandering to the fragile male ego. I think it's time they put their big boy pants on and stop expecting everyone to make it easier for them.
Reading these comments makes it obvious that it will be a while until Dems are back in power. If you keep thinking everyone that disagrees with you is a racist or misogynist you will be in for an angry few years and maybe longer. The dem party has moved away from mainstream hard-working people.
That is simply not true. Right now it is a big job to protect women from all the rights being stripped from them. Anyone that voted for Trump voted against their own interests except the racists and misogynists.
Democrats are weak as a group, consisting of a few strong individuals. You guys need to break up the two-party duopoly and introduce more options to voters. And yes, I'm aware that Dems and Reps would align to fight this idea.
As a minority, I can do nothing. 65% of white men and 53% of white women voted for trump.
2 of 3 of white guys and half of white women I know voted for the white Christian nationalist patriarchy to continue. They knew exactly what they were doing when they voted for Trump.
the problem is Dems have to appeal to every demographic simultaneously with limited funds while Republicans just appeal to racist white men and anyone who wants proximity to them while racist oligarchs dump tens of billions of dollars into their coffers to do so.
While I agree with some of the idea that male voters may have felt alienated or left out of the Democratic platform, the first premise of the article is about men not voting for Hillary for a variety of reasons, but it ignores the fact that she won the popular vote.
Educating young men would be more appropriate, but this IS politics. I understand that there's a need to not seem exclusionary toward anyone. But this comes down to messaging. There's a certain amount of education you can do in political messaging, and Dems don't always do a great job of it.
"Illegal" Immigration angers right wingers, but messaging by Dems doesn't do enough to dispell the myths that "illegals" are voting in large numbers, collecting government aid, drug trafficking, and commiting violent crimes. The GOP simply scapegoats immigrants & minorities.
For example, "cancelling" student loans upset a lot of people who thought it was "free" money (mostly right wing, not college educated). Messaging should've focused on what it actually did - cancelled debt that was far in excess of the principal of the loan plus the regular interest payments made.
Women are largely supportive of men
Why do Men see women as a threat?
SHE must be taking something
Some men don’t want to do the WORK of contributing toThe Public Good
Or so it seems
“Thank You for Your Service” must be a two-way street where the value of each person’s contribution matters
I was at one of the 50501 rallies yesterday. One of the speakers asked people to raise their hands if they were members of various groups. I think that I was the only person there who didn't have his (cishet white) hand up at the end. This doesn't bother me personally, but it's yikes as tactics.
They watched the attack on democracy, inflation, etc coming for four years and did NOTHNG about it. Held no one accountable. Everyone saw the anger and frustration growing with it. Biden just watched and allowed Trump to cultivate this kind of warped view point. Is it really a surprise?
If these men can look at the markets flailing, see the cuts to vital government departments, can see Trump becoming an authoritative dictator, and still want to vote/support him, WTF do you think the Dems can do to get their votes? Those men don't want to change their minds.
“many young men [...] thought the Republican Party and Donald Trump were more in favor of them,”
They're "more in favor" of male supremacy. Trump made it obvious that a vote for him was a vote against women. Don't pander to pathetic male insecurities.
What we need to work on is why being in favor of women is interpreted as being anti-male. Many men come to political issues with the mindset that women’s rights are their enemy.
It says a lot about the failure of our society that young men can’t see how being helpful, useful to, and supportive of others (like women) is a benefit to them too

i know that democracy is hard, but can you bros at least pretend to give a shit about the rest of the country?
If we don’t want them falling into the circles offering toxic masculinity, WE need to be offering them guidance and continuity and opportunity.

To the rest, thank you.

IT PAYS TO NOT FOLLOWING THE LAW AND TO TREAT OTHERS LIKE SHIT.
Both parties will find an excuse or twisted reasoning to give you a pass.
The "men" talked about in article learned from this.
Obviously, you don't read, which makes you almost as bad as MAGA.
Wistful comments, before you take a little time to find out.
