I would always whether it’s running on battery or not via a power cord connected / disconnected icon. Color I would use to warn when running low /discharching fast. Not use it for connected / disconnected but health.

Love it, but what's with the alignment differences? Screenshots from different work-in-progress builds? It doesn't seem too be the date/the text changing, the three battery icons are the same width, and otherwise all the content is identical.

a couple of weeks ago, I wish I'd taken a screenshot, my date format in the tray changed to have the day and month displayed in text like
3:34PM
Friday, January 24
but has since reverted back. I thought it was a nice change.

i could be wrong, but alignments look to be the same in each state. it’s just that the screen cap for each is sized just different enough to make it look misaligned.

Measuring by a screen ruler, I think the distance between the date and battery is variable as well as the distance from the left to the up arrow.
But, the distance between the icons are indeed static.

That's really nice! Except for if you have a desktop… but when the desktop is plugged into a battery backup, it'd be nice to know if I have ~30 minutes or ~30 seconds left to save everything…

I fully realize it may be a pipe-dream, but it would be really great to know that detail during a storm.

This is cool and all. But I'd much prefer a basic option to turn of recommendations in start completely. I don't want "more pins" I want "only pins." Microsoft used to care about giving users choice but that feels less and less true every day. But at least it will look pretty...

The written percentage is great, I don't want to hover anymore.

But the color is misleading at that level. It may switch to yellow when it drips below the configured threashhold.

The default is at 20% and that would be a better example than 86%. But I don't wanted to offend anyone. That is really a cool improvement, thanks to @jenmsft.bsky.social !
But I needed some time to understand it because of the "mismatch" (in my head) between yellow and 86%.
