I worked in preparedness. This has been "discussed" as an important issue post Katrina.

First responders have cop attitudes. Many come out of that culture & work within it.

20 years later, I don't expect much improvement.

It's particularly short-sighted not to ensure disabled people are protected and provided for because, if we live long enough, we ALL become vulnerable, and most of us will be physically disabled in some way.

Here in SE Wisconsin all we dealt with was some strong winds and higher particulates in the air for a few days. But it caused me such a horrible MCAS flare that I've barely gotten out of bed, and have gone through a whole Kleenex box in one day.

Ugh I’m so sorry! Weather is one of my biggest MCAS triggers. I’ve got air purifiers and climate control but there’s only so much we can do (and mast cells are so finicky)

Yeah my air purifier was running nonstop but it wasn't enough.
