Our moms, grannies, great grannies took care of themselves and family too. They were Wiccan. It's what we do and have done always.
Hit my nose pulling covers up. Throbbed like hell for a week. Could breathe ok; didn’t go.
Don't know how it is for people with chronic illnesses. But I've had mostly fine experiences, and my easily overwhelmed autistic ass copes much better with their waiting areas.
