I wonder if there's research out there on who uses food delivery apps the most. If I had to guess, I'd say single millennial and gen X men who never bothered learning basic food preparation. This is just based on who I see whinging about burrito taxi costs the most.

I worked with a guy who's my age, so 40s, who doordashed lunch to work basically every day despite working in a building with a group lunch delivery program (different restaurant every day, no tipping, delivery fee was like a dollar) AND a (mediocre) cafeteria.

We made good money but still!

My mother has a story about teaching an office coworker in the 80s how to roast a chicken because he literally ate take-out every night. (She's a Boomer, but I know the timing from which job it was.) I'm not sure how old the coworker was at the time.

I mean, a lot of men of all ages still don't cook for their families either (other than BBQ) and someone else is also likely making their lunch. Some cis men really do weaponize their incompetence, flaunt it and put a lot of energy into being wilfully ignorant about how exploitatively they behave.
