She can't veto a motion like that. And it wasn't even rejected—forwarding without recommendations is usually so some additional work can be done before city council. What was said on the community council video?

(2/2) The reason for the reopening was that the item was original marked as "recommended" by committee when it was clearly to be sent on "without recommendation". This is quite clear on the video. Presumably there will be an updated proposal when this hits Council, possibly before. Watch the agenda.

Fletcher is also the one who vetoed the removal of the southbound stop on Broadview at Danforth. Stopping there prevents the signal priority from working effectively.

Sometimes passengers take priority not just when they're on board but also at stops. Also the stop is not used during peak periods. As for Broadview Stn, the local BIA didn't want to lose spaces in the TPA lot. Shows where priorities lie. Streetcars still queue on Broadview snarling traffic.

The stop is literally in front of Broadview station. It does not need to operate while the station is open. It's too confusing to have a stop not served during peaks. People don't notice the sign and streetcars stop to pick them up. Which screws up TSP because we assume constant speed during peaks

Paula Fletcher seriously needs to retire! She may be one of the better councillors around, but staying in office too long does hinder judgement and make one less receptive to new ideas.
