Absolute red alert they wanted to visit the Philadelphia and Kansas offices so early on. In addition, it would be no surprise if their desire to privatize Treasury disbursements stems from their wanton desire want to close the Philadelphia office because many African-American employees work there.
"Akis’ presence raised alarms among some of the Treasury officials present for those early meetings, since he was not an official member of the incoming Trump administration and didn’t have a security clearance at the time, the sources told CNN."
1. From CNN article above: He (Musk) wrote his team “discovered, among other things, that payment approval officers at Treasury were instructed always to approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups. They literally never denied a payment in their entire career. Not even once.”
2. The post appeared to ignore the mechanisms already in place for Treasury to simply fulfill lawful payment decisions made by other agencies, and that the system’s value to the federal bureaucracy and the nation’s economy lies in its reliability. Musk jumping the gun yet again.
Perhaps Trump & Musk suffer from the same malady. Their unable to gather the facts prior to jumping to a conclusion that many times is completely off the mark. It's like when he took over Twitter and nearly bankrupted it. That possibility still exists. He's not nearly as smart as he believes he is.
"Trump-affiliated employees"? Are you saying these Muskovites are govt employees or employees of the non-governmental group called DOGE (it's not really a department or even a govt body).

Create a ruckus.
Get arrested.
Good Trouble
So they backdoor eliminated an actual, needed, agency and got DOGE in without that pesky congressional approval.
Amazing how quickly the guardrails disappear.
Among them is Baris Akis, a Musk ally who is the co-founder of a venture capital firm, Human Capital.
