On one hand, this drama over words in The Atlantic is so laughable, but at the same time, we see a Government that is actively policing language in their own existing content, removing words like "diversity," "discrimination," and, oh, "transgender."

Why isn't *that* a pressing issue, hmm?

I don't get the Right's tendency to make it sound like their freedom of speech was under attack.

I mean, at WORSE, these examples are cringey and eye-rolly.
But they act like its the only example of fascism they can think of.

I work at a pretty liberal place and I wasn't FORCED to add pronouns. They suggested it, but im an adult and I could choose not to. I ended up doing it anyway, but plenty dont and its fine.

I mean, once you learn how things work, you can use it against itself. Tell them you don't feel comfortable displaying your gender, and they wont make you.
If you're mad about others doing it, then you're weak.

Same here. It was, at best, encouraged at mine. But that was it.
