I frequently see this kind of news headline and it angers me - most EV drivers would rarely if ever use premium rapid charging. Imagine if petrol prices were reported as if drivers only ever bought premium fuels at motorway services. But people read these stories and are discouraged from buying EVs.

'city runabout' is about the best I hear. Which to me is no bad thing.
My last was 21p per mile.
Now I'm playing whack-a-mole in winter looking for a rapid charger that isn't ICE'd or in use AND I'm paying 80p/kWh... I hope you can understand my lack of enthusiasm!?
I also had expensive cup of tea at the services - I’m not pricing my 5 cups/day habit at £3 a cup so £5000/yr
I charge mine at home.
What are you paying at rapid chargers and how many miles/kWh does your car get?
Love this.
*raises hand*
I do almost exclusively use premium rapid chargers because they’re most of my options, it fits with my lifestyle AND I have no ability to charge at home.
Maybe consider that others have a lived experience that doesn’t fit exactly with your expectations.
Will this affect some EV owners? Yeah.
Millions? Not a chance.
Even 10%? Unlikely
To your point on misrepresentation, BOTH sides need to stop it. Omitting and ignoring reality is bad. Making out something is bad when it isn’t is wrong.
I cannot stand ANY misinformation, whether it’s “for the good of EVs” or “antiEVs”.
Normal people are flooded with misinformation from both sides.
Presumably by the time there are millions rather than hundreds of EVs that can't be home charged low cost low power chargers will have continued their spread over car parks and curb sides.
My council thinks our street is all off road parking. In reality it’s about 40-50% depending on the car size.
I like EVs. I hate the ownership.
Really need to fix public charging, and quick.
