i think thats fair. i put it in my favorites on steam immediately but then i also havent picked it back up even once since i finished it. i played the original approximately a million times so clearly something changed

Same. I think a good part of it is definitely nostalgia for the specific look of the original, but the remaster also just looks like it's trying to emulate a different era of the show. It's hypersaturated and afraid to let any aspect of itself be 'calm.'
I think it's easier for me to say I'm more nostalgic for that era of the show rather than the specific gameplay tweaks of the original.. but it's definitely both.
