it's why, despite the fact it's my favourite of the series, Final Fantasy XII feels like a bit of a letdown. It just doesn't feel Matsuno-esque enough in the writing.
Was surprised about how much the gameplay reminded me of another (later) game I played this year, Xanadu Next. Wondering if one influenced the other, if there's a common inspiration both drink from or if maybe it's just a coincidence.
Really digging how complex and interconnected the combat-related systems are. So stylish, too, that range sphere is a unique design choice and there's a ton of carefully crafted animations. It's a bit overwhelming at first but the pleasure of getting to understand how it al works together is great.
