Nishino has been on record saying that games have to reach a wider audience to sustain development this gen. Looks like they're making moves quickly rather than starting the course.
Honestly at this point, i feel like PlayStation are throwing stuff around trying to make it stick. Such mismanagement over their whole live service fiasco. Hopefully they’ve woken up and smelled the roses and this marks a step in the right direction.
