Some photos made in the XPan crop on the Hasselblad X1D-50c, whilat on assignment with NHK World.
65x24 is an aspect ratio I love shooting in and one I've been enjoying for almost 30 years.

Some shot 45mm on the X1D, which is like 35mm on full-frame. But the old lady and the fox were shot with the 90mm on that camera, which is like a 70mm on full-frame.
So it's aspect ratio that creates the feel of width. Which I love about it.
We go to the movies, we see 70mm and Super Panavision aspect ratios. The scene looks wide, physically. But many of the scenes we're looking at may have been shot on all sorts of longer lenses. Not wide-angle lenses.
This, for instance. 100+ photos stitched. Shot on 50mm.
I remember that beautiful lady
from one of your NHK specials.
Thanks, Steve.
What did the fox say?
Then he saw it was me. And figured he was in safe hands.
