I have been informed that western NSW health have recorded 10 000 cases.
#WhoopingCough is spreading keep your young babies safe and away from anyone who could be a spread risk until they can be #vaccinated.

It's unfathomable how society can willingly regress when we have such a simple solution. Mind you, I was in the ER on Monday night with my mum and saw a grown man carry on like a pork chop over a blood draw, so a vaccine is probably beyond him.

I got the vaxx again this past week as I had heard it was rampant & knew my previous vaxx was fast expiring. Turned out it had just 6 months to go (of ten years!) A relief to get it. Would hate to catch then spread WCough. 😱

It went through my kids (Vic) primary school, then our house to my aging parents. All vaxed, but close to booster point, coming up to 10yr mark. Imagine many families with older primary school kids are similar - vaxed when kids are babies, but need boosters

Many adults have no idea boosters are even needed. Where is public health??
My partner contracted it in his late 20s. Fit, played rep sport etc. I came home from work to him on the floor struggling to breathe. His lungs haven't been the same since. We had a baby too, who luckily didn't contract it.

This is terrible. I developed a whooping cough very briefly with swine flu in 2009, and realising that the noise I was making as I struggled to breathe was an actual whoop was chilling, thinking of the wards full of whooping babies before the vaccine.

My son is in Czech Republic, he caught it this summer. 34 years old. Apparently something like 12 deaths from it this year

Got all my boosters for DPT and MMR before my first grandchild was born 4 years ago. No way was I going to take the risk or live with the guilt of making that baby sick. I was part of the polio vaccine program in 1961, and I remember the lines waiting to get it. Vaccines work to save lives.

A few kids at school have been swabbed and return to school as they await results. Then they disappear when the positive result comes in.

It's infuriating. Are GPs suggesting the return while they wait or are parents caving to schools pushing attendance?

It really needs some serious government promotion. Most people rely on their (believed) immunity, unless you’re actually got grandkids arriving it doesn’t filter through, because the focus will be on your own emerging health issues. If it was for a remarriage & baby it wouldn’t have been a thought.

I caught this in the 50s as a young child and was out of school for six months. It is no joke! Can’t believe it’s making a comeback. It takes a toll on your lungs and to this day I am susceptible to respiratory infections.
