Had no idea about this case. That’s quite scary and has the potential to completely upend preventive care under the ACA. Also seems like with Chevron deference overturned, now the Supreme Court has justification to say the USPTF or ACIP can’t decide anything for anyone.

the ACIP is an advisory committee and I am relatively sure that the CDC director gets the final word to sign off. I suppose the worst case scenario would be the new CDC director would just ignore the ACIP and not accept any of their recommendations.

I’m thinking no 😢 that seems to me to be the lag between *adding* vaccines and implementation. Stopping requirements for schools seems like it wouldn’t have any lag at all.

ACIP has only indirect impact on state level policy on vaccine requirements for schools. Uptake is most closely associated with the degree of requirements vs ease of exemptions. If are level legislatures are empowered to expand personal exemptions this changes quickly. @pauloffit.bsky.social
