Yep - it’s Workers comp fraud. Typical for law enforcement to have multiple claims and then cash out, claiming permanent injury. It’s also a common way for bad employees to escape being fired for breaking the law or being reprimanded. Source: Work comp atty for 15+ years

typical, I know cops who once a year or so get some injury and then work a second job they already have established fo a number of months until they reach some limit. Firemen too, in-law every 9 months would have some injury and make extra working a home improvement business.

It has to do with the job. If a dog trainer loses 20% of their vision, it's minor disability. If a neurosurgeon or professional athlete loses the same 20%, it's career ending.

Same thing with the ability operate a firearm.

But if he's disabled he shouldn't have the same job somewhere else.

Apparently the job sitch is a matter of semantics- the job he currently holds as an elected official might be enough to protect his disability income bcuz he was "elected" and not "hired".
