Disclaimer, and explainer, out the way, how in the name of anything does anyone think we can "build a bridge between the US and Europe". Yes we need to still deal with America, but the UK isn't exactly a global leader at the moment as it is. 2/

That is before the not insignificant matter of you can't deal with Trump. We are talking about a man who has demanded something like half of all Ukraine's mineral reserves to broker a deal which would see Russia effectively annex the country. 3/

It's clear (IMHO) that with Trump, as with Putin, you have to assume he's not acting in good faith and that any agreement he makes only holds as long as it suites him (ie is effectively worthless)

I have a constant fear that the more the state of the world gets to me the more I risk self-radicalising myself. I know I rant, because I use social media to dump my thoughts out to stop them causing me to get overwhelmed. With Trump though, I think it reasonable to say "you can't work with him". 4/

The disclaimer is really interesting, because I have none of your vast expertise or experience, but reach the same conclusion. So should anyone with any wit or logic. The man is seeking to destroy everything, so unless you are seeking to be a part of that, you need to be at one remove or two.

I do agree
Trump is unstable. Any agreement made may not hold.
He only understands strongman tactics
