I just recently discovered that AC and DC can run simultaneously on one wire. Kinda blew my mind. The fact that they did it nearly 100 years ago was definitely a shock! (old tube amplifiers)
Both FPD-Link and GMSL (and later versions) allow for Power Over Coax, used to do a bunch of work on them in a previous life. Worth noting though: DC bias current has a pretty severe impact on the forward channel, >1A was enough to kill the link at the time, probably better now
If you need more current, I've found the slightly larger "Mini560" boards to be good up to 3-4A or so continuous. I'm using three of them here to step back down to 5v from 20v3.25a (65W) from USB-PD supplies:
I had at least two of those smaller boards with the variable voltage fail in a way that dumped higher voltage into the output, dunno if it was just bad potentiometers, but I'm wary of any of the littler "mini360" ones with variable output.
I do think the mini560 comes in different output voltages.
whats wild is they probably got hundreds of emails saying their photos are wrong. and they're like... whatever, it costs $0.10 to update.. its cutting into our profits.
