I find it kind of fascinating that a lot of modern people have just decided the Trojan War story belongs in the Bronze Age when there is barely any reason to put it there, and much better reasons to make it a story about the transition into the Archaic period

The idea that Homer’s writings preserve isolated elements from the Bronze Age is more common, such as armour and modes of war
I think most scholars today would agree with Roel in that Homer’s poems are thoroughly a reflection of his own time, the Archaic era, and not the Bronze Age at all.
My view is that the Trojan War actually happened in the era that matches Homer’s descriptions, the Archaic era.
