I thought of that too....I had a severe chronic pain condition for 2-3 years...and thank God it eventually remitted....and as an injured worker fighting with a WCB.

While I don’t condone going out and capping a dude, I get the rage. My territory health care denies migraine medication because “migraine is not a real disability/disorder”. So I live with the pain daily. Migraine has destroyed my creativity, happiness, my life. So I 100% understand.

Exactly! The levels of medical privilege I am seeing on this platform is eye opening. What they don’t realize is that chronic pain could happen to them at any time and without warning. Health is never guaranteed. Then, they will change their tune.

Well...chronic pain patients don't go out and shoot others...but more than enough have killed themselves....since the powers that be blamed their 'opioid crisis' on legal pain meds and they've been deprived of their pain meds.

Yep, I expect this to be traumatizing/re-traumatizing to many in the disability & chronic illness community.

I hope this event has gotten some people to wake up to class consciousness, though.

I hope so! But the minute I heard *he’s* the patient my first reaction was “oh no”. People have sympathy/empathy for a dying spouse or parent who was denied. They’ll have less for a man with chronic pain, especially one who’s ambulatory.

I was thinking about that potential reaction if he turned out to be the patient while getting screamed at by someone this week for using my disabled placard AND walking, the nerve of me.
