Absolutely nothing! Can run it completely standalone, has a very serviceable built in speaker or y'can plug headphones in.

Also very simple to hook up to a DAW/other gear should you want to - am always happy to advise.

Should add, if you DO want to hook it up to a computer, you'll likely want an audio interface (happy to recommend some)

But you can absolutely use it on its own, ready to go, nothing else needed.

I'm currently in the middle of learning how to integrate the XFM into my workflow, my only criticism is it's a tad more fragile feeling than I'd hoped, I'm worried long term the keyboard deck keys may fall out or something 😆
