This holiday season, take a moment to visit your local bookstore. It’s about more than finding a great book—it’s about supporting the small businesses that keep our communities thriving.

Hey, just an observation, and a hope, that you publish. Whatever it is. Douglas Adams said, I love deadlines. They're stressful, and I love the whizzing sound they make when the fly by.
It’s also good to note for book readers in Canada from today (Dec 14) until sometime in February, the GST/HST tax has been removed from book purchases. A great time to buy new books and support your local bookstore. 📖
God, I wish I looked as good as my dog. I would love to complain about Justin Trudoe like he was a pain, rather than orange. If anyone wants to help us Americans (US) become non US, I'm ready, and know others. Thanks. Know it won't happen, but we are ready.
100%! Our local favorite also has the best children’s toys and a café with killer chicken salad and the best homemade cookies! SO @caramelcrisp in Oshkosh.
In Flint, MI we have two wonderful small bookstores, Totem Used Books and Comma Bookstore. Totem sells new books from local authors as well as used books, and Comma is owned by a prominent Black woman in our community who promotes authors of color and banned books. Truly great stores to support!
I make it a point to get to Talk Story in Hanapepe every time I am on Kauai. I love buying books from the bookstore that is the furthest west in the country! Plus they have cat!
And if times are tough and you are struggling a bit this holiday season, visit your local library. They are always happy to see you and can even help you get back on your feet.
I DO want to support small businesses. AND bookstores. But, I'm also aware of my carbon footprint. I have over 1000 books in my home. It's hard to justify 'needing' any more stuff.
Absolutely! Local bookstores are such vital parts of our communities, offering more than just books, they create connections and support the local economy. Plus, the people who work there often read the books themselves, making them a fantastic source of inspiring suggestions.
While we are local to #MissoulaMontana, we are independent, woman+LGBT owned, and self funded. Find us online @ https://www.fmcbooks.com. Follow us on all the places, we love talking about the books that inspire us!
OMG! I finally found a Barnes & Nobel on Tempe yesterday! It was like coming home- and the rows and rows of books were so welcoming! In AZ, there aren’t many bookstores. I sure wish there were. :::like the one in Knotting Hill 😊
