And now, a note on Bill Owens who, until this past week, was the executive producer of 60 Minutes. We’ll be back next week with another edition of 60 Minutes.

Experiments show that when bees are exposed to microplastic pollution, their memory gets so muddled they may forget the scents associated with sugary rewards. As a result, pollination may fail — which is bad news for flowers and crops.

It hasn’t been mentioned much that the legendary Executive Producer of 60 Minutes named Bill Owens was forced to resign because he refused to bow to the orange felon seeing as its parent company Paramount needs the orange felon to approve a merger. Fascism 101.

ILLINOIS… Gov. Pritzker…

National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day is on April 30. To bring awareness to the day, the Up First newsletter is sharing some stories from readers about how their pet has impacted their lives.

You have to see this. PoliticsGirl and her husband teamed up with the brilliant Timothy Snyder (author of On Tyranny) and the legendary John Lithgow to create something truly powerful. It’s important, it’s urgent—and it needs to be shared far and wide.

Senator Booker: What kind of man is in the white house that makes fun of the disabled, who lies so much that the fact checkers lose count, that minimizes the pain and the suffering

Dutton would try the same stunt here. Sack public servants and give squillion dollar contracts to his mates in the consultancy racket.

Good question. Why DOES Pete Hegseth have a Russian phone number? 🤨

I am working out of a public library and there are a good number of people who seem to be on hard times using the facilities for various reasons like job searching, entertainment, charging peripherals, using the bathroom, etc., and I am struck by how important it is that libraries continue to exist

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House. We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication. They own what happens next.

I understand that these are dark times that call for courage. But keep in mind I am just a baby

I’m amazed how little coverage this story has gotten. They’ve burned well over $16 million to briefly hold 290 immigrants and several photo ops to GITMO. Just a total train wreck and they didn’t even mention it officially. Check out my latest. open.substack.com/pub/fpwellma...

Indeed.

KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN. ☎️: (202) 224-3121 Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid. The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING. Call retiring Senators too!

Sloppy sloppy but @fahrenthold.bsky.social is on the case

It blows my mind that some people buy the fraud, waste, and abuse cover story when Musk is doing things like this

Always the game — or, really, the con

Seems standard

One way to make a car more popular is to showcase the Nazi owner alongside the fascist dementia patient who is crashing the world economy

one of the things i truly believe is that a significant portion of this country is in the grip of a death cult

Get in loser, we're tanking the economy

Good night, Bluesky. Sleep well. Here is Spice to keep you company until we meet again.

In 1942, the American President opposed censorship because books were weapons in the fight against tyranny.

They called him Sleepy Joe because we could sleep at night.

The coolest thing I’ve seen today is that a bunch of volunteer public health professionals and developers have restored the CDC website from before January 20th 2025. This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.

Fact-check: True

More of this

It’s borderline criminal.

“What’s transpired over the last three or four days just takes it to a whole new level of cruelty and inhumanity and, frankly, a whole new level of stupidity in doing this is the most non-strategic way.” Tens of thousands of people will die as a result of this action. www.salon.com/2025/02/28/a...

This seems fine 😬

Can we just say this out loud? The muted and almost light tone of coverage of this guy breaking into an airport and managing to board a plane with a LOADED SHOTGUN would be wildly different if he wasn't white.

What a photo. Green must be the start of something, not the end.

This is the first page of this morning’s edition of the Globe and Mail (arguably the English Canadian paper of record) I don’t remember seeing anything like this before

Exactly this.
