Relatable content etc. Not so much the plagiarism, but the pushback. I used to get similar scrutiny when highlighting hentai stuff. Any nuance is met, at best, with befuddlement of why I'm looking at a game at all if I don't buy into it wholesale, or at worst, straightup hostility 🤷‍♂️

This seems to be especially a problem among the younger generations. The names I have been called for talking about and preserving adult media are perverse and unwarranted. Discussion isn't endorsement !!!

I personally feel like the “what if writing about this makes a shitty individual want to play it?” sentiment should’ve prevent you from writing about controversial stuff. It’s absolutely not your fault if someone reads a well-written and researched article and misses the point.

I see “but what if the BAD PEOPLE get EXCITED by this???” as an argument for banning/censoring media a lot and it never ever sits well with me. The things you write about *should* have proper analysis, context, and discussion.

At the end of the day I suppose we've just gotta do our best and carry on since the folks that lap this stuff up are gonna do it anyways. It'd be nice if they didn't call me names or slurs while doing it!! but oh well. I'll probably get around to covering something controversial again eventually
