That our biggest newspaper chain is foreign owned was probably never a good idea. But as we face an erratic US president it becomes more urgent to ask:
If Postmedia needed to choose between what’s good for its American owners and what’s good for Canada, what would they choose? How would we know?

It's the former for sure, as they constantly push conservative points of view and endorse conservative candidates and parties in Canadian elections, both of which are seen by Americans as being favourable to American interests.
We saw what happened with the big US papers last fall.
Right?
they propped up the Convoy in Ottawa. They posted that gross image of Zelenskyy picking Biden’s pocket. David Staples asking questions about Canada joining the US. USA extreme right views are whole thing with Postmedia.

Like, it's been so fucking obvious.
Even I couldn't believe it when Conrad Black made himself a criminal, and the rag and it's subscribers still backed him up.
No morals and no conscience.
nationalize, and no 'Canadian subsidiary' bullshit either. Let us at least be owned by our own fucking oligarchs

They're both working for the dictatorial ambitions of the US regime.

They're there to report the news, as they see fit. They're not state propaganda organs.
And that's true regardless of the nationality of their owners.
We need more promotion and support for these distinctly national, non-corporate voices. Also, rejuvenate the CBC.
NAIVE & complicit enablers are tedious AF. @deanblundell.bsky.social @zevshalev.bsky.social
We need a CBC that's wholly dedicated to a project of informing Canadians on important issues in an entertaining-enough way to keep their eyeballs on it, and uses whatever avenues necessary to do it.
A national return to producing Canadian TV shows would be good, too.
I mean Steve Paikin is centre-right and his TVO shows are good. Ditto Herle.
I want a CBC that cares at least half as much about the issues of the day as the average talk radio station.
