Ron would be deeply suspicious of the deep kickbacks and the utter inefficiency. Of course he would like to slash and burn the government, but Ron can definitely smell a grifter. Also, no way would Ron Swanson ever get past that it’s called DOGE
He would be all for it in the first act, then realize grizzl is only doing it to line their pockets and resolve to help Leslie take them down by the end of the episode.
i don’t think he would… he wants actual fiscal conservation, not utter chaos that lines a bunch of grifters’ pockets. also he loves the national parks way too much to get on board with what they’re hoping to do to them
He advocated for selling City Hall and turning into a gas station. He has some principles but he would absolutely wholeheartedly agree with the majority of what they do.
true… though to be fair (and it’s been a long time since i’ve watched it), but it seemed like getting with diane and becoming a parent toward the end of the series was starting to give him a different/less “i am an island” of a perspective.
For sure, not saying he would align completely with Trump, I imagine he'd despise Trump because he believes people should honour their word, but he idea of gutting government would make him giddy.
He absolutely wouldn't, and if you think he would you missed the whole point of ron swanson who CARED DEEPLY for people, he would not approve of these blatant attempts to cause misery pain and death of so many fueled purely by greed and hate...never seen a character misinterpreted SO badly
you judge a person by their words, I judge them by their actions...it seems obvious to me you missed the point of ron swanson and are just going for a cheap point...congrats
I think this is what I am trying to point out in particular. It should be noted in this episode he defends Leslie and offers to be cut from government instead.
"I think that all government is a waster of taxpayer money. My dream is to have the park system privatized and run entirely by for-profit corporations, like Chuck E. Cheese. They have an impeccable business model."
He's kinda the poster child for most libertarians, honestly. They believe in all this shit until it personally affects them, and then they bend the rules.

"The less I know about other people’s affairs, the happier I am. I’m not interested in caring about people."
(i think tom would love it for sure, he’d be desperately trying to get elon’s attention and join the team)
His ideas are absurd and that’s the point. But he’s also actually a kind person.
