Don’t make me tap the sign (cc RFK Jr)

Quite an exchange here between Judge Reyes and DOJ attorney on how "pronoun usage" affects military readiness.

Of the past decade? I don’t understand how, as a people, we can have forgotten that this is a lesson in pretty much all of recorded history. For me, the lesson of the past decade is how effective targeted disinformation has been

Imagine the conversation around making this change. NYT has fallen so far in credibility. It’s truly ludicrous

This might sound weird but I try to apply this to parenting - if I threaten my kid (like with no TV) to get them to comply, I’m teaching them to respond to threats with compliance. I try not to use threats. It can be really hard to get a two year old to listen & I fail sometimes, but I stand by it

I feel TOO seen

A recent US presidential EO "refers to autism and other disabilities as 'a dire threat to the American people & our way of life.' This is fundamentally inaccurate. Autistic people have always been here, including before America existed. We aren’t new." autisticadvocacy.org/2025/02/asan... 1/2

Quick points: 1. We do not 'live with autism', we are autistic. 2. If you live with an autistic person you live with an autistic person, you do not live with autism.

I know there are people who feel this way in the US too but they’re being buried in disinformation. Dehumanizing rhetoric needs to stop everywhere, full stop

Kiddo has been watching some pokemon shorts on yt and I just told her that girl pikachus have hearts on their tails. She got SO EXCITED that there are girl pikachus 😭 Every time she sees one she yells out ‘MAMA A GIRL ONE!’ Anyway, anyone that says representation doesnt matter doesnt have kids.

I’ve been struggling. But today I managed to get my two year old playing outside and set up new sensory bins, and it’s been really joyful, so I feel like I’m doing one thing right anyway. We did chalk drawing and made “stone soup.” Now we’re scooping pink rice and sparkly chickpeas. A good day

When cities clear homeless encampments, workers often take people’s belongings — including important documents, survival gear and irreplaceable mementos. Over and over, people across the U.S. told ProPublica they were devastated by such losses: https://propub.li/3WScD3g

Self care for autistic people is knowing your limits and allowing yourself to do the less socially acceptable thing when you've maxed out your social capacities rather than forcing yourself to push through because everyone else is.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

When you combine an autistic sense of hyper empathy, feeling everyone's emotions, with alexithymia, not being able to understand what you are actually feeling, along with a heightened sense of social justice, inability to switch off and need to fix everything, the world is a nightmare at the moment

1/ Here's my take on what's happening with DOGE. I've got fed experience through contracting with Health & Human Safety, Head Start, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and DOD. I get brought in when people need to get shit done. Other people here have way more experience than me.

Called all my reps again today. I guess people who aren’t autistic and/or anxious probably don’t understand how it feels for some of us to make calls like that. It’s like being in full-body fight-or-flight but you’re making your body fight and you squeeze out every word?

Late diagnosed neurodivergent people were relentlessly criticized growing up for behavior(s) they could not help. Once they figure it out suddenly everyone that’s been criticizing them their entire life has the audacity to say things like: “You don’t have autism or adhd. You are perfectly normal.”

This is so bad.

One thing I appreciate about Bluesky is that pretty much every time I’m doomscrolling, I come across a post that tells me to take a break. And then I do. ❤️

Personal victory: I called all my reps today. That might be small to some but it was very difficult for me so I’m gonna be proud of it. #ActuallyAutistic
