It depends. I only had one and it was like a tooth extraction. The numbing was enough for me. If yours are impacted or something and it takes longer I could see the benefit. But that numbing drug us the good shit.

The one that's being pulled is partially erupted, so theoretically it should go a bit smoother than otherwise?

Had 2 pulled, both just numbed. The first was out in like 5 minutes and had no problems after that. The second one took almost an hour, it hurt like hell even with numbing and healing took like 2 weeks. It depends on how the roots are but generally it can work with just numbing.

I didn't go under for mine and didn't feel a thing, just pressure. I may have had a bit of anesthesia but I remember the whole thing clearly

All four wisdoms out, I think the needles were lidocaine. Four needles in my gums for pain. Laughing gas IS OPTIONAL! Which is good because I was gonna have a panic attack from being put under substances. I could feel them pulling stuff, but only a bit of pain.

Panic over laughing gas is a psychological thing from my upbringing and not anything you should be worried about. Recovery was ibuprophen, wait 2 hours, tylenol, wait 2 hours, repeat for ~3 days, then just ibuprophen. The actual teeth pulling was a lot like cavities/cleaning for me. Good luck!

I did with just N2O, it's a very quick procedure, maybe a few minutes. I probably could have handled it without the N2O, but, anxiety. Plus I've had a much longer procedure prior to this with twilight anesthesia to remove a wisdom tooth that had cracked in half, so i had expected the worst

It's fine if you're doing local anesthesia instead of going under. You feel and hear everything but there's no pain, just discomfort.

If you’d can deal with the sound of bone crunching. I got so much morphine but my body reacts differently to pain and anesthetics I wish they would’ve knocked me out. I think I scared the guy because I started doing meditation hand signs and deep breathing while they’re where in my mouth.

I was also awake when mine were removed. It wasnt the most pleasant experience. But it didn't HURT. Just felt pressure mostly.

Yes, I’ve had a wisdom tooth removed last September with just local numbing, beats having to recover from light ‘general’ version, also cost me less than the whole anesthesia gambit (which I turned out to have problems with)

not a follower but yes. i had two removed with only gas and numbing and two with local. you feel a lot of pressure rather than pain but it was very anxiety-inducing. i panicked a lot and cried but once it was over i felt a lot better and calmed down and was able to drive home.

….no but I woke up during having all 4 taken out and ran from the chair and around the office screaming and getting blood everywhere before they wrangled me back. I have no memories of this but everyone else there does >.>

I had Ativan (lorazepam) and lidocaine. Basically just makes you not care that they’re fishing around in your mouth, it’s not like getting put under, and it should be pretty cheap.

The estimate I got lists a "therapeutic injection" and the doctor said it's for like, dealing with some of the soreness and pain? But I'm not sure exactly what it is.

Generic lorazepam should be less than $20 for 30 1mg tabs, even without insurance. If they don’t give you that for a reasonable price, I’d look elsewhere if you can. It’s gonna make their lives easier if you’re too compliant to bite their fingers, anyway.

You don’t even need that much, just enough to keep you compliant during the procedure. After that, something you can get over the counter is good enough for pain/soreness. Not pleasant, but you’re getting teeth yanked out.

I did it with a local and laughing gas.

they came out easy, and my migraines went away instantaneously. They were gone in the car ride home.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled with anesthesia but a front tooth came in through the front of my gum and had to be removed with just numbing. No pain except the needle to inject and just some weird pressure and tugging.

Got my 4 pulled in two sessions (left and right separate) with numbing, it were nasty but painless procedures.
