This was literally what Harris did for the last months of her 2024 run for president. It killed her campaign.
Centrist/undecided voters do not make up a significant faction that can swing elections anymore. This is logic that died in 2008. Either you turn out your base or you lose.

Trump is just vibes.
Look, those are all things I agree with, but who knows if they would've made a difference.
Easy to imagine calling out Israel and supporting trans people would've lost votes.
Voters are morons, by and large
The fact that we have basic media literacy is killing us.
I think we should put Lead in the hummus.
As you've said, the dems/left base is a broad coalition that - generally - has actual policy demands. And appealing to all of them without alienating any takes a bit of effort.
The electorate at large though?
Honestly, I don't think Harris could've won.
She could've planted a flag and said our side supports trans people, and objects to genocide.
Make it easier for the next candidate
It was possible that she could have won. Whether or not the issues I brought up were the decisive ones? Who knows.
And if they did, they were already voting left.
Policy doesn't matter any more.
The presidency is a reality TV show now. Matt Damon would've swept 40 states. Optimus Prime would've done 51
Just pointing out that MAGA are playing the game on easy mode.
Read the room, Dem leadership. Or leave. Actually, do both.
