four times a year is better than twice a year but i really do need human skin to skin contact more often than that if i want to be, like, mentally well. and it sucks because this feels like such an objectifying/dehumanizing way of thinking about making connections with people

I hear you. Meeting people is sooo hard right now, I don't think it's dehumanizing to others to know you need some good feedback. Do you have any artsy interests? Craft meetups/theatre/choir are great spaces to just Go There every week, then that builds up connections AND gives you a creative outlet

yeah i was doing some art classes for a few months and that was a good way to just be around humans but i didnt succeed in like. making friends. i was trying really hard to be open and friendly but not pushy and i just dont think folks were there to meet friends, i think they were there to do art

It is hard and slow… but also: try a gay dance floor. Not for sex per se; but to be close to queers. Get hugs. Dance community really helped me a lot as a younger queer. Can be a stop-gap while you find your honey bunny.

yeah i used to do that but hit a pretty significant wall w autistic burnout in my later 20s and simply cant take the sensory overload of that kind of thing anymore (plus other disabilities that just make it less fun). i miss it a lot lately tho
