We had premiership experience on the board. Didn’t help. Think I’ll stick with DB. I liked what he’s done as president and what he said on DonTheStat podcast.
The board is flawed because there is no premiership experience on it - yet we just had a board with Madden, Wellman and Sheedy on it all who have multiple experiences with premierships and they didn't move the needle.
Actually, my favourite statement might be "If we can't do it (win a final) in three years I will shouldn't be there".
AKA: If I can't swoop in & take all of the glory and results from all the grunt work the previous regime did by riding their coattails and not actually getting my hands dirty....
(I also respect that everyone is free to make their own choices and don't fault anyone for voting for who they think will do the best job for the club even if it doesn't align with my preference).
This is just what we don’t need. A member of the old boys club beating their chest about reliving past glories. This is just the kind of culture that led us to exactly where we are today! Will not be getting my vote
But indeed, there’s been plenty of time for him to do something and it’s ironic that he’s preaching stability, improved culture and standards, when he’s trying to oust a board that’s been trying to do exactly those things since day 1
The contradiction is always amazing. My favourite lines are always “it’s time for change” can you not remember when barham got rid of half the board, the coach and the CEO? As Brad would say, he’s being a resultist
Yeah, exactly. And I really liked what Barham had to say on @donthestat.bsky.social as well. Sounds like things are — finally — going in the right direction and this would be, at best, more turmoil.

What a weak soapbox to stand on.

We have some long term Board members (7+9 years) who have overseen some pretty shambolic years
Whether or not you think they've finally got it right, there's still a long period of poor leadership
This is a classic case sorry of seeing score results from afar but not seeing a bigger picture transpiring that is exactly addressing those areas
He’s had ample opportunity.
