It's weird that the players in a game that takes your time, and no money from them they can't be decent and just flow. Last time a player metagame I played with them so hard they even laughed at the end of it with their vampire father that was just an illusion.

A lot of the metagaming I've come across in the last few years has usually come in the form of players avoiding the use of Recall Knowledge. They'll either forget it exists of try to glean as much 'obvious' information as possible without having to give up an action for it.

Or both.

Sometimes, even the latter isn't so much intentional metagaming as it is accidental. Getting too into a character's head RP wise and forgetting that the character might not remember something in the moment mechanically and stuff.

For example, I imagine Lucian is an omninerd. He loves learning about everything- magic especially, but EVERYTHING. So, in ffd20, when a certain character is doing his "survival of the fittest" crap, there have been times where I've almost had him go full "here's SciShow vid on evolution, meanie!"

As an amusing aside, "survival of the fittest" isn't "might makes right". It's "holy crap, this guy F*KS, a lot". Everything else in incidental. :p

I haven't done that yet because I dunno whether Lucian's actually learned about that/ remembers that information. It would be very easy for me to accidentally assume he does, tho, so while plugging holes is good I wouldn't assume maliciousness for most peopld unless it's, like, explicitly obvious.
