I'm putting it down to it being a beta and maybe optimisation issues, I played a bit on pc and could barely run it at the lowest settings, had to put it down as it was giving me a migraine.
My brother didn't seem to have many issues on Playstation though, ran and looked well too.
I can't get on board with the push for higher and higher fidelity because it will never look as good for me as stuff optimized for less specialized systems. Rise looks 10x better than this without spending $800 on more vram.
This is still the beta so I'm hoping the final game is much less picky about your specs. But I really don't need it too look better than Worlds or Rise to enjoy it and would rather not have hardware requirements that make it look like this to me.
They did say the final release version will be in an improved state compared to the beta, for whatever that’s worth.
Given it’s the Monster Hunter team I feel inclined to trust them at their word for now.
We’ve definitely hit the point of diminishing returns. Say what you want about Nintendo, but I do appreciate that their games don’t care about pushing more polygons than the eye can see and instead they focus on good art style.
Yeah, even on my solidly powerful rig the beta looks pretty rough and still doesn't perform all that great. One would hope this gets more optimized in the final product.
world's decision to move away from stylized, expressive visuals and ui was always a bad omen to me. rise really gave me hope that they were walking things back but at this point im not sure if monster hunter is for monster hunter fans anymore
Capcom is using the wrong tool for the job. RE engine is optimized for corridor-style games and remakes of games designed around decades-old game systems. This and Dragon’s Dogma 2 ain’t it. As much as I hate all the consolidation around UE5 Capcom is a prime candidate for moving over to that IMO.

in the rush to make the most graphics you've ever seen, everyone who isn't rich and dedicated has been abandoned.
