As a former dir of product mgmt @Twitter (which I loved), I can confidently say that since Oct 2022, Bluesky, w/its small but mighty staff, has implemented more impactful & user-centered product features than multi-billion dollar public companies w/thousands of employees have done in over a decade.π¦

And, yes, like so many other companies, sometimes doing the right thing is not viewed as essential as revenue. π
Thatβs big tech shareholder-led capitalism.
Bluesky will of course need to come up with a sustainable long-term business model, and I hope that they will, but in the meantime, Iβm just glad they are following a different β and user-centric β path that is not a slave to Wall Street.

3) More features to support user control and choice; eg detach quote posts; powerful block; block lists;
4) A non-extractive approach to users.
There needs to be an alternative.
At least so far it feels much nicer and more safer then Twitter.
Mastodon is way too complicated for normal people (kinda the Linux of the Social Media services) and feels clunky.
