I remember the first time my mom brought one home, pretty in lavenders and purples.
“Look at the horse!” she said, “Isn’t this amazing?”
I do not have depth perception and could not see the horse.

These things started cropping up in everyone’s houses for a year or two, and I could enjoy looking at them because colors! Dots! Swishes! But I never knew what the 3-D pictures actually WERE, and I’d get frustrated by the knowledge of invisible horses

This is also how I engage with music. I can enjoy sounds! I have favorite songs and there’s music I like and don’t like, but for reasons along the lines of “the lyrics remind me of a dramatic thing that happened in a roleplaying game” rather than anything to do with the quality of music itself
