I've bought one AI narrated book by accident, and listened to previews of a couple of others.
I found the uncanny valley element of them extremely distracting - and the book wasn't terrible. (Unlike Blake Pierce, who had been putting out audiobooks since before AI narration was a thing.)

I can tolerate AI narration with news articles. Though I'm just as happy to use conventional TTS. (Or *gasp* my actual eyes.)
